By annexing Crimea, Russia has carried out an act of aggression against Ukraine. Currently Russia is transferring terrorist and sabotage groups to Eastern Ukraine. Russia aims to prevent legitimate presidential elections from happening. Everyday life in Eastern Ukraine has turned into a continuous nightmare in the middle of Europe. Our country is being destroyed right before our eyes. We therefore take the courage to inform you about current events in Ukraine. This is just another point of view. We will do our best to remain objective.

July 14 – Trial invasion by Russian armored vehicles under Russian flags was implemented near Luhansk at night on July 13th. Ukrainian army drove away the enemy therefore the invasion didn't develop further. However Russia is preparing to transfer Special Forces from Rostov region to Ukraine, says the coordinator of "Information resistance" group Dmytro Tymchuk. Today, the issue is how and under which pretenses these military units (Special Forces) will be introduced in Ukraine. At the moment, National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine sees no signs of preparation of such invasion. The coming days will be decisive regarding this matter.

July 14 – Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukyanchenko delivered an address, in which he stated that he left the city because his life has been threatened. He is currently in Kyiv.

July 14 – Russian terrorists have shot down a Ukrainian military aircraft AN-26, which was flying over Ukrainian territory. Plane crew catapulted. The aircraft flew at 6500 meters, thus it couldn't have been hit by shoulder-launched surface-to-air missilesused by the terrorists. Aircraft could only have been brought down by guided missiles, which were quite possibly launched in Russian Federation. Is this intimidation or direct invasion?

July 14 – German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes that Ukrainian authorities must begin negotiations with the terrorists who are operating in the east of Ukraine as soon as possible. Since Israel is also currently involved in an anti-terrorist operation maybe she has some valuable advice for Israeli authorities as well?

July 14 – During the last six months Germany (represented by Chancellor Angela Merkel) was the primary opponent of tough sanctions against Russia, writes the Financial Times. Now Germany is joined by Italy. Italian companies, similarly to their German counterparts, who publicly opposed the broad economic sanctions against Kremlin, also have deep and long-standing ties with Russia. France too hasn't pulled back and still plans to sell "Mistral" ships to Russia – it's business as usual. It seems that the EU has started surrendering Ukraine to Putin. Where are they now – attractive slogans about freedom, united Europe, and human rights? Is it all about the money? Really?

A Shared EU – Russian Fiction

A more cynical fiction than the addition of 11 Kremlin-backed militants to a meaningless EU blacklist instead of real economic sanctions against Russia as aggressor would be difficult to imagine. Except perhaps the latest calls for 'peace negotiations' made by Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the World Cup final



On July 11 the European Union added 11 more names to its list of individuals facing "restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine". Largely theoretical travel restrictions and symbolic freezing of 'assets' are purportedly needed "in view of the gravity of the situation in Ukraine". They came a week after the G7's one month deadline for the Kremlin to take real measures to stop the unrest in Ukraine elapsed on June 4, and shortly after an EU three-day ultimatum was ignored. "Third-level sanctions" were to follow if Russia did not take serious steps. Neither real steps, nor real sanctions followed, only 11 additional names on a personal sanction list which had already demonstrated its ineffectiveness.

A more cynical fiction would be difficult to imagine. 11 members of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics have now been 'blacklisted'. They include the Russian PR manager turned 'prime minister of the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR] Alexander Borodai; DPR 'minister of security' Alexander Khodakovsky and Alexander Khryakov, DPR 'minister of information and communications'. These individuals join those from earlier lists such as DPR's 'defence minister' Igor Girkin [nom de guerre Strelkov], a Russian national believed to be working for Russia's GRU military intelligence service, former self-styled mayor of Slovyansk Vladislav Ponomaryov and others.

All these people are certainly implicated in the ongoing carnage in eastern Ukraine. So too are the Russian mercenaries brought to Ukraine in huge numbers. Neither the 'official separatists' nor those openly paid to fight are more than pawns in a game with the lavish supply of arms – and the orders – coming very clearly from Russia. This was stated quite clearly by ex-president Leonid Kuchma who has represented Ukraine at negotiations. He saw no need for any meetings with the militants – "it's not they who decide", he said. A 24-year-old Armenian, Artur Gasparyan who claims to have come to Donbas to fight for a cause, not money, told Radio Svoboda, that "The DPR is a fiction – decisions are taken by others"

Any attempt to present the original 'separatists' as being behind the conflict ignores their evident failure back in March and early April when 'separatist' demonstrations in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv gathered pro-Russian crowds of no more than a couple of thousand.

The scale changed dramatically on April 12 and 13, with the appearance in cities like Slovyansk [Donetsk oblast] of heavily armed and well-trained men carrying out synchronized operations. The key point was spelled out clearly by US Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt "Militants in eastern Ukraine were equipped with Russian weapons and the same uniforms as those worn by Russian forces that invaded Crimea".

NATO and the US have repeatedly pointed to Russia's active role in arming and training the militants, and in at very least ensuring unimpeded entry into Ukraine of large numbers of Russian nationals coming to fight. This is not questioned by EU states either, except when it comes to practical response – or attempts to mask their effective failure to respond.

Two countries are believed to be most responsible for the EU's stalling on anything more than expressions of 'deep concern'. France is insisting on selling two Mistral warships to Russia and training the Russian navy to use them and does not want sanctions stopping this. German business interests have come out equally strongly against sanctions.

While ostensibly insisting that Moscow use its influence over the militants, both France's President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have most assiduously lobbied for Ukraine to extend a ceasefire that only Ukraine was observing and to engage in 'peace talks'. Merkel in particular has pushed for the inclusion of Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian President Vladimir Putin's close associate and one of the first people against whom the US imposed sanctions back in March.

Merkel and Putin are reported to have met briefly before the World Cup soccer final in Brazil and again stressed the need to "step up peace efforts on Ukraine".

Calls for negotiation, rather than for brute force, sound good until you consider who is making them. Aside from the release of OSCE military observers held hostage by the militants, Russia has taken no steps to de-escalate the situation. Quite the contrary, with reports backed by photographs and video footage indicating renewed movement in recent days of Russian military technology across the border into Ukraine.

Moscow has, however, engaged in another elaborate attempt to distance itself from the militants it is backing. On July 3 a video was circulated in which Strelkov warned that the militants would be slaughtered if Russia did not come to their aid. This refrain was repeated over the following days, together with constant reports that the militants were 'disillusioned' with Moscow over its alleged failure to support them. There is certainly no evidence at present that Russia has dumped them. Over the last few days, numerous reports of men, tanks and other equipment crossing into Ukraine from Russia have coincided with loud claims from Russia that Ukraine has bombed its territory and that this will have grave consequences. Strelkov is now also singing that tune. Early Sunday evening, July 13, he told LifeNews that "Kyiv's aim is to draw Russia into military conflict in the south-east of Ukraine"

The future role of the motley bunch of militants calling themselves the DPR and LPR remains unclear. There are, however, no grounds for doubting that this will be decided by the Kremlin alone.

Instead of acknowledging Moscow's refusal to adhere to the commitments it gave at the Geneva talks and keeping to its own apparent promises regarding sanctions, the EU has opted for a pitiful pretence. Through purely cosmetic sanctions, it is effectively collaborating with Russia and placing not only Ukraine, but Europe's own security in danger.

Depuis quelques semaines, la Russie met en place des groupes terroristes et des saboteurs dans les régions orientales de l'Ukraine. Son but – perturber les élections présidentielles légitimes. Actuellement la vie des habitants dans ces regions situées en plein milieu de l'Europe s'est transformée en un cauchemar continuel. On est en train de détruire notre pays devant nos propres yeux. Par conséquent, nous prenons notre courage à deux mains pour continuer à vous tenir aux courant des événements en Ukraine. C'est un point de vue parmi d'autres. Nous essayerons de rester objectifs.

Le 14 juillet – "Dans la nuit du 13 juillet, des véhicules blindés russes sous le drapeau russe ont tenté de pénétrer dans la région de Louhansk. L'armée ukrainienne les a repoussés. Rosja dokonała aktu agresji przeciw Ukrainie, anektując Krym. Teraz Rosja wprowadziła grupy terrorystyczno-dywersyjne na Wschodnią Ukrainę. Cel jej działań- zapobiec legalnym wyborom prezydenckim na Ukrainie. Dlatego dziś życie mieszkańców Wschodniej Ukrainy pozostaje ciągłym horrendum w środku Europy. Na naszych oczach niszczą nasz kraj. Dlatego bierzemy na siebie odwagę informować państwa o wydarzeniach na Ukrainie. To jest jeszcze jeden punkt widzenia. My postaramy się być uczciwymi.

14 lipca – W nocy na 13 lipca w obwodzie Ługańskim przeprowadzono próbną inwazję rosyjskich pojazdów opancerzonych i czołgów pod rosyjską flagą. Została odparta przez Armię Ukraińską. Dlatego inwazji na razie nie powiodła się. Ale Rosja przygotowuje przerzucenie sił specjalnych GUW z obwodu Rostowskiego na terytorium Ukrainy – o tym mówi koordynator grupy "Opór Informacyjny" Dmytro Tymczuk. La Russia, annettendo la Crimea, ha effettuato un atto di aggressione nei confronti dell'Ucraina. Ora essa ha introdotto gruppi terroristici e sovversivi in Ucraina orientale. Il suo fine è quello di vietare che le elezioni presidenziali legittime abbiano luogo. In questo modo la vita in Ucraina orientale si è trasformata in un incubo nel cuore dell'Europa. Davanti ai nostri occhi viene distrutto il nostro Paese. Per questo, ci prendiamo la responsabilità di informarvi riguardo agli eventi in Ucraina. Si tratta di un altro punto di vista. Cercheremo di essere obiettivi.

14 luglio – Nella notte del 13 luglio, nella regione di Luhans'k è stato effettuato un tentativo di invasione da parte di veicoli blindati russi sotto bandiere russe. L'esercito ucraino ha respinto l'attacco. Rusija je izvršila akt agresije prema Ukrajini anektiravši Krim. Sada je uvela terorističko-diverzantske grupe u Istočnu Ukrajinu. Cilj je da se spreče legalni izbori predsednika. Zato je sad život u Istočnoj Ukrajini pretvoren u totalni užas u centru Evrope. Na naše oči uništava se naša zemlja. Zato se usuđujemo da vas informišemo o događajima u Ukrajini. Ovo je još jedna tačka gledišta. Trudićemo se da budemo objektivni.

14. jul. – Noću 13. jula u rejonu Luganska bila je izvršena proba invazije ruskih oklopnih vozila i tenkova pod ruskim zastavama. Odbila ju je ukrajinska armija. Zato invazija nije bila razvijena. Ali Rusija sprema uvođenje specijalaca iz Rostovske oblasti na teritoriju Ukrajine, − smatra koordinator grupe "Informativni otpor" Dmitro Timčuk. Россия осуществила акт агрессии в отношении Украины, аннексировав Крым. Сейчас она ввела террористически диверсионные группы в Восточную Украину. Цель – не допустить легальных выборов президента. Поэтому сегодня жизнь Восточной Украины превращена в сплошной кошмар в середине Европы. На наших глазах уничтожается наша страна. Поэтому мы берем на себя смелость информировать вас о событиях в Украине. Это еще одна точка зрения. Мы постараемся быть объективными.

14 июля – В ночь на 13 июля в районе Луганска было проведено пробное вторжение российской бронетехники под российскими флагами. Его отбила украинская армия. Поэтому вторжение не нашло дальнейшего развития. Но Россия готовит введение спецназа из Ростовской области на территорию Украины – убежден координатор группы "Информационный сопротивление" Дмитрий Тымчук. На сегодняшний день решается вопрос о том, в какой форме будут вводиться эти подразделения в Украину. Однако СНБО не видит признаков подготовки этого вторжения. Ближайшие дни будут решающими.

14 липня – У ніч на 13 липня в районі Луганська було проведене пробне вторгнення російської бронетехніки під російськими прапорами. Його відбила українська армія. Тому вторгнення не розвинулося. Але Росія готує введення спецназу з Ростовської області на територію України – переконаний координатор групи "Інформаційний опір" Дмитро Тимчук. На сьогоднішній день вирішується питання про те, під яким виглядом будуть вводитися ці підрозділи в Україну. Однак РНБО не бачить ознак підготовки цього вторгнення. Найближчі дні будуть вирішальними.

14 липня – Мер Донецька Олександр Лук'янченко виступив із зверненням, в якому заявив, що залишив місто у зв'язку з прямими загрозами життю. Тепер він у Києві.

14 липня – Російські терористи збили на українській території український військовий літак АН-26. Екіпаж катапультувався. Літак йшов на висоті 6500 м, тому його ураження переносними зенітними комплексами, які є у терористів, було неможливим. Літак міг бути збитим тільки ракетною зброєю, яка була застосована, вірогідно, з території Російської Федерації. Це застрашування чи пряме вторгнення?

14 липня – Канцлер Німеччини Ангела Меркель вважає, що українська влада повинна якомога скоріше приступити до переговорів з терористами, які діють на сході України. Може й Ізраїлю, який саме веде антитерористичну операцію, вона б теж порадила що-небудь?

14 липня – Останні шість місяців основним противникам жорстоких санкцій проти Росії була Німеччина в особі канцлера Ангели Меркель, пише видання Financial Times. Тепер до Німеччини приєдналася і Італія. Італійські компанії, як і їхні німецькі колеги, які публічно виступали проти широких економічних санкцій проти Кремля, також мають глибокі й давні зв'язки з Росією. Ну а Франція не відступається від планів продати Росії кораблі типу "Містраль" – теж бізнес. Видається, що ЄС почав здавати Україну Путіну. А де ж ідея свободи, Європи, прав людини – чи головне це тільки гроші?

14 липня – Банки з російським капіталом втратили більше 50% депозитів в Україні – агентство Standard & Poor's Ratings Services.
